In Methods and Specialist, the exam at the end of Year 12 counts for half the subject result on its own. In General Maths it is a quarter. Whatever the assignments have said so far, a large part of the mark is still ahead of them.

Senior maths rarely goes wrong all at once. It is usually a few topics that quietly pull a result down, and they are predictable.

Senior maths is closer to first-year university mathematics than to anything else at school. Anita is studying exactly that now, so nothing is rusty, and she sat these exams recently enough to remember which parts break people first.
